Israel Aerospace Industries

Israel Aerospace Industries (IAI) is Israel’s major aerospace and aviation manufacturer, producing aerial and astronautic systems for both military and civilian usage. 

In this project, a 1.2-metre-long wing skin integral structure will be used as a representative section of a full-scale 7m wing.

The use-case will be carried out by:

• implementing the developed monitoring system into small scale demonstrators measuring around 0.5 m length for technological demonstration of the inspection and monitoring capabilities

• performing further system improvements and optimisation

• providing test results and conclusions to partners

• checking systems’ capability to detect flaws during process.

• a system demonstration during manufacturing of a 1.2m integral wing box and s final report including conclusions for future use in aerospace industry cases

AIMEN will assist IAI in the integration, fine-tuning, and industrial tests of the FLASHCOMP solution.

It is estimated that the FLASH-COMP solutions will reduce the landfill waste that IAI produces by 258 kilos per year, saving them approximately €106,650 per year.
