FLASH-COMP at EFFRA’s Manufacturing Partnership Days

FLASH-COMP partners attend busy EFFRA event to showcase the progress the project is making.

FLASH-COMP partners were out in force at the recent Manufacturing Partnership Days, hosted by EFFRA and supported by DG Connect, HaDEA and DG RTD, held in Brussels.

Representatives from Insight Media, INEGI and ESTIA attended the event to showcase the work of the project and discuss synergies and opportunities with 37 other projects working on similar and complementary topics surrounding Industry 4.0, the circular economy, Zero Defect Manufacturing and the future of work.

As well as hosting a booth where many discussions about FLASH-COMP’s work took place, the project was also presented to all delegates, who were from research and industry, during the opening plenary session on day one of the two-day event.

Fernando Silva of INEGI delivered an inspiring talk at the very start of proceedings, during which he briefly introduced the overall aims and objectives of the project as well as, importantly, delivering insight into the main developments of the work done so far at this half-way stage.

Insight Media’s William Davis and Sam Davis spoke to many other projects with a view to further collaborative efforts in relation to joint dissemination activity. They were also there to distribute the special EFFRA edition of Projects Magazine, in which FLASH-COMP also featured, providing the project even more exposure.

Finally ESTIA’s Jon Arambarri was also at the event and able to talk to many other delegates about the project in general and also about ESTIA’s work in ensuring it has very much a human-centric dimension – a hot topic of conversation with many throughout the two days.

An added bonus for FLASH-COMP was that its new animated film that introduces the overall concept of the project was given a primetime slot on the big screen and all delegates seemed to enjoy the experience or watching it.

Željko Pazin, Executive Director at EFFRA, emphasised the collaborative nature of this event, which aimed to showcase the progress of 37 Horizon Europe-funded projects that are focused on the development of digital technologies.

“These technologies are pivotal in realising Europe’s green agenda and fostering a sustainable manufacturing ecosystem,” he said. “The conference served as the perfect platform for projects to demonstrate their contributions and explore avenues for transitioning research outcomes into practical applications.”

The FLASH-COMP partners there certainly agree this this was a fantastic opportunity to showcase the project to a wide and relevant audience and look forward to the next EFFRA event which takes place in September this year.
